   Tornado Watch Number 414
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   850 PM EDT Mon Aug 3 2020

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     Eastern North Carolina
     Coastal Waters

   * Effective this Monday night and Tuesday morning from 850 PM
     until 600 AM EDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     A few tornadoes likely
     Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

   SUMMARY...Hurricane Isaias will move track northward across eastern
   North Carolina overnight, with conditions becoming favorable for a
   few tornadoes across the watch area.

   The tornado watch area is approximately along and 80 statute miles
   east and west of a line from 25 miles north northwest of Elizabeth
   City NC to 25 miles southeast of Jacksonville NC. For a complete

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
   tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
   area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
   threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
   and possible warnings.

   AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
   surface and aloft to 0 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
   gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean
   storm motion vector 16035.
