   TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 214
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   130 PM CDT THU MAY 26 2016

   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A

   * TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
     CENTRAL AND EASTERN KANSAS
     WESTERN OKLAHOMA
     WESTERN NORTH TEXAS

   * EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 130 PM UNTIL
     1000 PM CDT.

   * PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...
     SEVERAL TORNADOES AND A COUPLE INTENSE TORNADOES LIKELY
     WIDESPREAD LARGE HAIL EXPECTED WITH ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL
       EVENTS TO 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER LIKELY
     SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH LIKELY

   SUMMARY...THUNDERSTORMS ARE RAPIDLY DEVELOPING OVER PARTS OF
   SOUTH-CENTRAL KS...AND ALONG THE DRYLINE OVER WESTERN OK.  IT
   APPEARS SEVERAL ROUNDS OF STORMS MAY AFFECT THE WATCH AREA
   TODAY...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR VERY LARGE HAIL AND TORNADOES. 
   STRONG TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE.

   THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 115 STATUTE
   MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 15 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF
   GAGE OKLAHOMA TO 15 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF TOPEKA KANSAS.  FOR

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
   TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.
