   TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 95
   NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
   525 PM CDT FRI MAR 30 2007
   
   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
   TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF 
   
          NORTHEAST...CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
   
   EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY MORNING FROM 525 PM
   UNTIL 100 AM CDT.
   
   TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
   GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
   AREAS.
   
   THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80 STATUTE
   MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 45 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF DEL
   RIO TEXAS TO 35 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF PARIS TEXAS.  FOR A

   REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
   TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
   AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
   THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
   AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

   DISCUSSION...FAIRLY WIDESPREAD COVERAGE OF SEVERE TSTMS EXPECTED
   OVER WW THIS EVENING AS 60 KT MID LEVEL SPEED MAX ASSOCIATED WITH
   EJECTING NM UPR TROUGH OVERSPREADS REGION.  GREATEST THREAT FOR
   DISCRETE STORMS WITH TORNADOES/LARGE HAIL AND POSSIBLY HIGH WIND
   EXPECTED TO EXIST IN THE RIO GRANDE VLY FROM NEAR DRT E/NE INTO ERN
   PARTS OF THE HILL COUNTRY...WHERE RICH LOW LEVEL MOISTURE IS PRESENT
   AND WHERE GREATEST HEATING OCCURRED EARLIER TODAY.  A MORE ISOLATED
   TORNADO THREAT AND/OR LOW LEVEL SPIN-UP TORNADOES/DAMAGING WINDS
   APPEAR MORE LIKELY ALONG DEVELOPING LINEAR MCS FROM THE RED RVR SWD
   INTO NRN PARTS OF THE HILL COUNTRY.  AN ISOLATED TORNADO THREAT MAY
   ALSO PERSIST IN WARM ADVECTION ZONE ALONG ERN FRINGE OF SLY LLJ IN E
   CNTRL TX.
   
   AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
   SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
   WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO
   500. MEAN STORM MOTION VECTOR 24035.
