   URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
   Tornado Watch Number 293
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   230 PM CDT Mon May 30 2022

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     Southwest and central Minnesota
     Northeast South Dakota

   * Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 230 PM until
     1000 PM CDT.

   ...THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION...

   * Primary threats include...
     Several tornadoes and a few intense tornadoes likely
     Widespread damaging winds and scattered significant gusts to 80
       mph likely
     Widespread large hail and scattered very large hail events to
       2.5 inches in diameter likely

   SUMMARY...Clusters of severe storms, with embedded supercell
   structures, will continue to spread north-northeastward from eastern
   South Dakota into western and central Minnesota through the
   afternoon.  Additional discrete supercell development remains
   possible farther to the east in southwest Minnesota, and any
   supercells that form in the warm sector will have the potential to
   produce a few long-tracked, intense tornadoes.  Otherwise,
   tornadoes, isolated very large hail and damaging gusts of 70-80 mph
   can be expected with embedded supercells and bowing segments through
   this evening.

   The tornado watch area is approximately along and 75 statute miles
   east and west of a line from 50 miles north northwest of Brainerd MN
   to 30 miles southwest of Redwood Falls MN. For a complete depiction

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
   tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
   area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
   threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
   and possible warnings.

   AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
   surface and aloft to 2.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
   gusts to 70 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 550. Mean
   storm motion vector 21050.
