   Tornado Watch Number 44
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   735 AM EST Sat Mar 12 2022

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     Eastern North Carolina
     Eastern South Carolina
     Extreme southeastern Virginia
     Coastal Waters

   * Effective this Saturday morning and afternoon from 735 AM until
     100 PM EST.

   * Primary threats include...
     A couple tornadoes possible
     Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
       to 75 mph possible

   SUMMARY...A strongly forced band of thunderstorms will pose a threat
   for damaging/severe gusts and a couple tornadoes as it sweeps
   east-northeastward through the watch area through the remainder of
   the morning, before moving off the Outer Banks midday.

   The tornado watch area is approximately along and 70 statute miles
   east and west of a line from 30 miles southwest of Myrtle Beach SC
   to 50 miles east northeast of Elizabeth City NC. For a complete

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
   tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
   area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
   threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
   and possible warnings.

   AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
   surface and aloft to 1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
   gusts to 65 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 450. Mean
   storm motion vector 25045.
