NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0308 AM CDT Thu Jun 20 2019

Areas affected...Portions of far northeastern LA into central MS

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 405...406...

   Valid 200808Z - 200945Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 405, 406
   continues.

SUMMARY...Strong to damaging wind threat should increase in the next
hour or two as storms approach Jackson, MS.

DISCUSSION...A recent merger of two previously separate line
segments has occurred across far northeastern MS. A corresponding
increase in echo tops and reflectivity has also occurred per KDGX
radar. West-southwesterly flow quickly strengthens to around 50-60
kt at mid levels across central MS based on RAP forecast soundings
and VWP estimates from KDGX. An outflow boundary from prior storms
lies east/west across central MS, and the small bowing segment now
crossing the MS River may move eastward along this boundary towards
the Jackson, MS metro over the next hour or two. Strong to damaging
winds could occur given the strong inbound velocities noted on KDGX
radar, and a small southward expansion in area has been made to
Severe Thunderstorm Watch 406 to account for this possibility.
