   Mesoscale Discussion 0802
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0829 PM CDT Sat May 25 2019

   Areas affected...Portions of southwest Texas

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 240...

   Valid 260129Z - 260300Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 240
   continues.

SUMMARY...Isolated large hail and damaging wind gusts may occur in
the next couple of hours with the remaining storms across southern
portions of Severe Thunderstorm Watch 0240, before nocturnal
boundary layer stabilization tempers the severe threat. An
additional WW issuance is not currently expected.

DISCUSSION...A discrete supercell persists along the Pecos/Crockett
County Texas border. Current KMAF derived MESH suggests that severe
hail remains possible with this storm. Damaging wind gusts are also
possible. Other storms surrounding this supercell have rapidly
weakened and currently do not pose a severe threat. As nocturnal
boundary layer cooling continues, inhibition will continue to
increase, leading to a further decrease in severe threat. As such,
the severe threat is expected to be very localized and short term in
nature, with no new WW issuance anticipated.
