Areas affected...Portions of the Texas/Oklahoma Panhandles and far
   eastern New Mexico

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 238...

   Valid 252049Z - 252245Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 238
   continues.

SUMMARY...The severe threat continues for WW238 with large hail and
damaging wind gusts remaining as the primary threats.

DISCUSSION...Severe thunderstorms continue across WW238 and given
the early initiation time, storm re-development has occurred back
along the dryline in eastern New Mexico. The initial storms are
beginning to move out of WW238 and into WW242, but with ongoing
re-development behind these storms, the threat will continue through
0100 UTC. Supercellular structures remain likely although clustering
of these cells is also likely given the warm/moist/unstable airmass.

With 1500-2500 J/kg of MLCAPE and effective bulk shear of 45-65
knots (mostly unidirectional/speed above 1-km AGL), large hail
remains a threat. Additionally, damaging wind gusts are also
possible given the moist profiles, but low-level lapse rates will
have weakened in some locations in the wake of the initial
convection. The tornado risk is also likely to increase into the
evening as the LLJ and low-level veering strengthen, especially
across eastern portions of the watch.
