   Mesoscale Discussion 0254
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0524 PM CDT Wed Apr 03 2019

Areas affected...Texas Panhandle and Western Oklahoma

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 36...

   Valid 032224Z - 040030Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 36
   continues.

SUMMARY...Isolated severe storms capable of large hail and gusty
winds will continue to affect portions of the TX Panhandle and
   western OK.

DISCUSSION...Latest radar imagery shows multiple intense
thunderstorms along an axis from west of Borger to northwest of
Childress, TX. These storms have formed along a surface dryline,
and in region of very steep midlevel lapse rates but limited
   moisture/instability. Despite the marginal thermodynamic
environment, current trends and CAM guidance suggest the activity
will maintain or increase intensity through the early evening as it
tracks eastward at 25 knots. Supercell structures capable of large
hail are the main concern, with the risk of locally damaging winds
as storm outflow mergers and upscale growth occurs, and the
   low-level jet strengthens.
