Valid 290128Z - 290330Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 180, 181, 182 continues. SUMMARY...A severe threat is likely to continue across the Texas Coastal Plain over the next couple of hours. Wind damage and large hail will be the primary threats. DISCUSSION...The latest WSR-88D radar imagery from San Antonio and Houston show a broken line of strong to severe storms, located from near Laredo northeastward to west of the Houston area. The line is near an axis of moderate to strong instability, with surface dewpoints ahead of the line generally in the lower 70s F. In addition to the moist airmass, moderate deep-layer shear is present. The Corpus Christi WSR-88D VWP has about 45 knots of 0-6 km shear, with some directional shear evident in the low to mid-levels. This will likely be enough to support a severe threat for several more hours. Although supercells with wind damage and large hail will be possible, the more dominant threat is expected to be wind damage associated with the faster moving line segments. The severe threat will move into the immediate coastal areas later this evening. ..Broyles.. 04/29/2023 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product... ATTN...WFO...HGX...CRP...EWX...BRO...
