   Areas affected...portions of Long Island NY into CT...RI and eastern
   MA

   Concerning...Heavy snow

   SUMMARY...Snowfall rates will increase to around 1-2 inches per hour
   at times from parts of Long Island into eastern MA through early
   morning.

   DISCUSSION...Snowfall rates are increasing early this morning from
   portions of Long Island NY into eastern CT, RI and eastern MA. This
   is occurring within a band of strong 700 mb frontogenesis and 2 hour
   surface pressure falls of around 2-3 mb. Additionally, increasing
   midlevel ascent through a deep, saturated dendritic growth layer
   will increase snowfall efficiency. The heaviest snowfall rates are
   expected within bands from Long Island into eastern CT and southeast
   MA over the next several hours. Rates may approach 1-2 inches per
   hour at times through early morning.
