   Areas affected...Portions of Lower MI

   Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 358...

   Valid 290020Z - 290115Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 358
   continues.

SUMMARY...Mainly a strong to damaging wind threat continues across
WW 358, although a tornado or two may also occur in the short term.

DISCUSSION...A broken line of thunderstorms is moving eastward
around 35-45 kt across much of Lower MI as of 0020Z. The airmass
downstream of this convection remains weakly to moderately unstable,
and 40-50 kt of effective bulk shear will likely support continued
maintenance of these storms for at least the next couple of hours.
Given the linear mode of the ongoing thunderstorms, strong to
locally damaging winds should be the primary threat. 00Z sounding
from Gaylord, MI show some veering/strengthening winds in the low
levels, with measured effective SRH of 178 m2/s2. An embedded
circulation within the line with a TDS signature occurred around
2355Z in eastern Antrim County MI. Accordingly, another tornado or
two cannot be ruled out in the short term (mainly across northern
Lower MI in the vicinity of a front) given the low-level shear
   present ahead of the line.
