SUMMARY...Locally damaging winds will be a possibility from far
southern Kansas south-southeastward into parts of western/northern
Oklahoma early in the overnight.

DISCUSSION...A semi-organized quasi-linear MCS continues to progress
east-southeastward early in the overnight across far south-central
Kansas and western Oklahoma. A 63 kt/72 mph wind gust was recently
measured at Medicine Lodge KS as of 1145 PM CDT. An appreciable
surface cold pool is increasingly evident in surface data with
3-6MB/2hr rises associated with a 15-degree F temperature drop.
Ahead of this, a relatively moist/unstable air mass remains across
the western half of Oklahoma. While low-level storm-relative inflow
and deep layer winds are weak, modest southeasterly near-surface
winds will continue to support southeastward forward propagation and
possibly some additional acceleration of the line. This may allow
for near-surface-caliber winds to persist for another hour or two
across northwest/north-central Oklahoma.
