Valid 240905Z - 241100Z The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 228 continues. SUMMARY...The tornado and wind damage threat will continue over the next few hours as the storms move toward the eastern edge of WW 228. The threats are likely to affect areas to the east of the watch toward daybreak which will probably necessitate new watch issuance. DISCUSSION...Latest radar imagery shows a convective line of strong to severe thunderstorms ongoing in northeast Kansas and far southeast Nebraska. The line is located along the northern edge of moderate instability with a warm front extending eastward into northern Missouri. Surface dewpoints to the south of the warm front are lower to mid 60s F with the RAP estimating MLCAPE values in the 1000 to 1500 J/kg range. In addition, the Kansas City WSR-88D VWP shows moderate deep-layer shear with a looped hodograph and 0-3 km storm relative helicities near 500 m2/s2. This will support a tornado threat with the stronger cells embedded in the line. Wind damage will also be possible along the leading edge of the line. ..Broyles/Guyer.. 05/24/2019 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product... ATTN...WFO...DMX...EAX...OAX...TOP...
