DISCUSSION...Regional radar shows a widespread area of light to moderate snow moving into portions of western Kansas, and a locally heavy snowband has developed in northwest Kansas. This trend should continue for the next few hours as a mid-level short-wave trough quickly approaches from the west, providing broad forcing for ascent. Regional forecast soundings indicate relatively high RH values developing within the dendritic growth zone, which should help to enhance snowfall rates, especially within any snowbands currently evident or those that develop. In particular, the latest high-resolution guidance shows potential for a band of briefly enhanced snowfall rates, perhaps approaching 2 inches per hour, over portions of southern Kansas. Snowfall rates should be heaviest over the region through 06z-07z. ..Karstens.. 03/03/2019 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product... ATTN...WFO...ICT...GID...DDC...GLD...
